DT45 Accepting One Another Through Love and Grace
David warns us to be wary of any judgment that comes upon us that has not originated from the Holy Spirit. Likewise, if we judge others, we may not be seeing as God sees. David encourages us to look carefully at our own flesh activity, for many aspects of our nature and insecurities may tempt us to judge others. Similarly, he warns us that the enemy may take advantage of us. We are reminded of the truth that we are to shower grace upon other people, and ‘let God’. Of utmost importance is our heart attitude to ourselves, others and God.
DT46 Judging Ourselves Enables us
to Live in Godliness
David continues his theme of our responsibility to examine our heart attitude, for it is here that God desires for us to be pure and holy. This is excellent teaching as it hits and exposes the very obstacles to holiness that we like to hide under! He shows us the real problem we face when we are tempted, and the effect it has on our Godly character if we do not resist it. He explains why we may feel condemned and unworthy. David shows us a way beyond these negative feelings, that of being humble and responsible before God.
DT47 Believers do experience
Persecution
This teaching completes the series in which David encourages us into the valuable discipline of self-judgment. For anyone who has had less than idealic experiences in their Christian walk, this tape offers a comforting message - suffering and pressure leads to growth! This really tests where our faith and desire is at, and leads us on to a deeper faith and trust in god.
DT52 What is Your Goal for Your
Spiritual Life?
This is a teaching for those who desire more than just a ‘maintenance walk’ in their Christian life. Davis asks us if we are allowing god to make us into disciples, Godly people with a testimony of a changed life and a vision to be holy? He gives us direction in all these challenging issues, helping us to mature in our Christian life.
DT55 Seeing the Value of Truth
This message is a response from the retreat ‘Sitting at Jesus’ Feet’ when God challenged us into more of His presence - more holiness, more righteousness, more Godliness. When we come into His presence, we expect to be challenged by Him, and also to receive more from him. God wants us to be able and willing to receive more of His love, care, Word and Truth. We are then equipped to contribute more to building up the spiritual side of the Church.
The Holy Spirit reveals Truth to us, and we can not divorce the Spirit and the Word. We prayed for Truth to be received and loved by the body of Believers in our nation because 2 Thessalonians 2.9-10 says ‘The coming of the lawless one is apparent in the working of Satan, who uses all power, signs, lying wonders, and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved’.
We must see the value of Truth, desire Truth and fight to keep Truth in our lives. We are called to be pillars that support the Truth by living Truth ourselves. 1 Timothy 3.15 ‘the church of the living God (is) the pillar and bulwark of the truth’.
Truth is under attack in our lives, so we need to live it. If it is only a mental acceptance, we will fall away from Truth. In order for us to stand, Truth must be a way of life.
If we know the Truth and are not living it, we are in rebellion, for we are choosing to disobey.
We need to ask ourselves - are we really living in the reality of Truth?
Our God desires to reveal all Truth to us.
DT 57 Inner Strength
David encourages us that although there is a weakening power effecting our lives, we have the power of God within us to strengthen us. The Word and Spirit give us an inner strength to resist all that is ungodly. If we choose to live by the word of God we will have power to rule in our own life and to help others.
